1. Steel bar processing:
(1) It includes straightening, rust removal, cutting, splicing, and bending into shape.
(2) When cold drawing is used for straightening, the cold drawing rate of HPB300 plain round bars should not exceed 4%, and that of ribbed bars should not exceed 1%.
(3) Rust removal of steel bars: It can be done during the cold drawing or straightening process, or by mechanical rust removal machines, sandblasting, acid washing, and manual rust removal, etc.
(4) The cutting edge should not have a horseshoe shape or bending.
(5) Steel bars should be bent into shape in one go and should not be bent repeatedly. Bending tools can be steel bar bending machines, four-head bar bending machines, or manual bending tools, etc.
(6) Processing should be carried out at normal temperature and the steel bars should not be heated during the process.
2. Steel bar binding and connection:
(1) For tensile steel bars with a diameter greater than 25mm and compressive steel bars with a diameter greater than 28mm, binding connection is not recommended.
(2) For axially tensioned and small eccentric tensioned members, as well as structures directly subjected to dynamic loads, longitudinal steel bars should not be connected by binding.
